on websites like newegg.com they advertise different types of ram like in some of their descriptions they say High Performance or Gaming, and Then I try looking for the exact same one that just didn't say that...and I tried to compare and doesn't look like theirs a difference

But is their a difference between advertise memory and regular memory does it give it extra Ram or something???

Whats the deal

It doesn't give "extra RAM." Some memory is intended to be quick and overclockable.

What you should look for is memory with good timings, such as DDR2 800 with Cas 4 or Cas 5 at standard voltages of 1.8v.

Memory with same speed (MHz), type (DDR2, DDR3, ...) and timing (CAS4 and-or things like 4-4-4-15) will give the same exact results, whether or not it's branded "Gaming", "Crossfire", "SLI" or "Super duper platinum premium limited extreme gaming edition".

Usually the only difference is that "gaming" ram sometimes has a better heatsink and maybe better timings. It really doesn't matter what it's called, just get ram with low timings and voltage.

Ummm...I would look into 2x2GB offerings of DDR2 800. It's dirt cheap now and you can get solid RAM for a great price. There's no reason not to get the extra 2GB (unless saving like $20 is a big deal).
