So Im putting together a new system for gaming. The main game im playing at this point is Age of conan. The price range was aiming for was a little over $1000, but it looks like what I want is going to cost almost $1500 with taxes and S&H. =/
I decided to go with the X48 mobo so that in the future i can put another 4870 in there and crossfire them. Anyone know a good reliable powersupply that could work for for this system with CF 4870's for less then $155, or other cheaper or equally reliable parts for this system?
Also, if anyone has any critiques, or thinks i need more parts or whatever, please share.

AFAIK Age of Conan doesn't benefit from Crossfire, so take your time before buying the second card.
I have read a review from someone Crossfiring 4870's, and according to this reviewer it outperformed the GTX 280 by a noticibal margin in AoC. Now I have heard that CF 4850s have giving some people minimal benefit vs just 1. Ill link you the review I saw.
Burners can use IDE cables (wide, a pest to manage, they hurt airflow, the burners have jumpers), or SATA cables (narrow, no jumpers). Same price, same speed.
Hmmm, if CF works in AoC then that's great news for AMD, they'll sell more. I was just talking to some other poster yesterday; he wasn't getting any benefit when he added his second 4850. OK, maybe it was his fault, he just messed something up.
Edit: thanks for that link. Very interesting. Too bad the guy didn't try with a single card too so we know for sure if the second card really made a difference or not. If it didn't, then a single HD 4870 still beat the GTX 280 in AoC, and that's really fantastic, considering the prices
BTW, I'm happy to see that a 620HX could handle HD 4870 CF. The 750TX shouldn't have a problem either.

It says in the reviews its pretty big, do you know if that would fit in the case I selected?
Also people were saying its very difficult to install, I dont mind if I have to press hard, but how likely is it ill end up breaking something installing it? otherwise, I dont mind paying less than for the zalman.
So here it is. I was going to get the cheaper version of the powersupply from buy.com, but realized with seperate shipping costs it would actually cost me $1 more, so I just decided to put it with the rest at newegg.
Any final critiques before I place the order?
Thanks for your help everyone
OMG everything is wrong you must start over! Nah just fooling Everything seems cool, only thing I could see that could be "improved" is by putting the 640GB version of your hdd instead of the 320GB. But that is just me, if you find 320GB plenty, have fun with your new comp.
So I ordered that 4870 from tiger direct last night, it said it was it stock. I look at my order status today, and it says it is back ordered because it is our of stock. lamee
