So I just bought a Cavalry CAXB Series 1TB Black External Hard Drive CAXB3701T3. For some reason, it won't detect on the computer. It will detect in the little quick launch window for safely removing hardware (like a flash drive or whatever). I think it might of be because the computer shut down unexpectedly? Is there a way to fix it?

I don't know how useful it will be but the pc specs are, xp home, 3.2 Pentium dual core, 4 gigs of ram, and a 98000 GTX+

If you are using the USB interface, assign it a letter in Disk management.
If you are using the eSATA interface reboot, then it will be recognized.
Implementing AHCI, would bring forth the hot swap capability.
XP has some problems with implementing AHCI.
