How to fill the board with 16G of RAM?

There are a number of boards, ie, ASUS, said to support RAM up to 16G. However, I can't find 8G of DDR2 nor DDR3 RAM in the market. How to make 16G out of 4 slots?

Your math is off. 4x4=16, 4x8=32. You just need 4 sticks of 4gb each.

I have a board that actually has this problem though. It's an ECS board that only has 2 slots, but supports 16gb.

It says "* (Due to the DRAM maximum size is 2GB at present, the memory maximum size we have tested is 4GB)"

In other words, it might not even work correctly with 8gb.

Well, 4gb should be enough for typical tasks anyway.

Good question. Frankly, I don't believe the 6100s chipset is even capable of supporting 16gb of ram. It's not a p45 that officially supports 16gb.

That, plus the fact that it's an ECS board doesn't give me too much faith in it.
