Question Regarding PCI-E on Asus Maxiums Formula II

On AMF, it lists this as part of its expansion slots

2 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (single max @16,dual @ x8 speed)

Later, it says it supports Crossfire. I'm just wondering if I choose not to put ATI cards but nvidia cards is it possible for me to do SLI because of this expansion slot? Does it mean that I have the flexibility to use Nvidia cards?

No, it will not support sli. And you shouldn't crossfire on that dual pcie@8x either, it bottlenecks.
