Hi there,

My Asus Rampage Formula came along with Supreme FX II audio card.
Note: I've got Vista x64 SP1.

Issue is quite simple: I can't get any sound.

All is connected properly. Got Asus InstAll completed (all drivers installed), but even after that I don't get any SoundMAX ADI Audio Driver installed. Tried to download newest drivers manually, but during pre-installation I get the hardware error (says that the driver is not proper for the hardware).

Control Panel > Sounds says my device is functioning properly and I even get sound bar jumping during playing something. But still, no sound.

Tried to switch sound card via Bios to AC97. No effect whatsoever.

Any experience there?
Please help :)

Do you have the sound card in the top PCIE X1 slot? I tried installing one in one of the lower slots once, and that does not work. It has to be in the top slot. Also, make sure your speakers are plugged into the green mini jack.

I'll check that as soon as I be home, ~2 hours. Thanks! Got new hope now.

Yeah, using top slot is the solution!
It works now, thank you! ;]

I had an asus motherboard with supreme fx 2 too, once when reinstalling the OS I had no sound.

After a few hours I realised that the speakers had defaulted to Bluetooth wireles speakers. Probably worth checking.
