Hi Im new and am very glad to be a part of this. I recently thought about having a new computer heres the one I choose, I hope some can help me on some decisions Im about to choose. Thank you in advance :)


AMD Athlon64 X2 4800+ Socket AM2

UNDECIDED on motherboard

Samsung 200gb 7200RPM SATA 3Gb/s

Undecided on VGA card


Sony AD7190S 20X SATA DVDRW

Kingston 2GB PC6400 DDR2 800

IRock IR11A 500W PSU


I need help on motherboard and Video card.

heres the one Im accounting

Motherboard

MSI K9N Neo-F Nforce550/DDR2/PCIE/SATA-R (cost more 26$)

ECS nForce6M Pci-E/DDR2/Lan/Sound

VIDEO card

PColor ATI X1650 Pro 512MB DDR2 128bit (less 12$)

Inno3D GF8500GT 512MB DDR2 128bit (60$) Preferred

Inno3D GF8600GT 1024 MB DDR2 128bit (Cost more 30$)

my 780 g chipset runs wicked fast....

if you can go for the 8800gs, it will kill and 8600gts and they are around the same price most places, even an 8800gt is not too bad.

If you can find something like this it would also really beat the 8600, it is more money of course, but if you game, worth it.

1st, What is your working budget total, and what will it be primarily used for?

2nd, your choices doesn't look like a "new" computer. What I mean is, they are very budget minded items. What are you upgrading from?

The min spec video cards would be 8800GS or HD 3850 if you are going to use this for gaming.

Well after looking at those motherboards on newegg, both deactivated, I assume you are not from the US?

Is it even possible for you to consider a AMD 780G, nvidia 750a, or AMD 770 chipset motherboard?

And The computer will be used mainly for gaming
