I just built a new PC first time in a long time and everything is going well except when using CPUID it shows the following for my 2.4 GHZ quad core Q6600.
Seems Vista is throttling the FSB up and down depending on load, I of course would prefer it to always be running at the top speed.
I have an Asus P5Q Deluxe MB and have manually told it to use a FSB multiplier of 9 but vista still wants to throttle it.
I have looked at the power options in vista and seems after I manually told the MB to use a 9X multiplier the cpu options no longer appear inthe power settings.
Any suggestions? or is this normal?

Why??? If there's nothing to do, why would you prefer the CPU to stay at top speed? Does it double as a room heater during winter? Speedstep is useful, it reduces heat and your electricity bills.
This would be the billionth thread started because people can't read stickies or use the search function.
lol, ya, but in his defense, there is so much information contained on this board (and FUD too, thanks fanboys) that it's hard to find what you want\need.
