Question #1. Does it support PCI Express 2.0? If not, will a video card with pcie2.0 work, and if so how big of performance drop is there btwm pcie 1.0/1.1 and 2.0?

Question 2. There are multiple versions of this mobo, ones which have an fsb of 1066 and even 1333, i have the 800 one. Now it says that the max ram it supports is pc-4200. I opened up my comp and checked that i have a 1gb stick of pc-5300 in there... basically im just wondering if i want to get another of the same stick will it work with the mobo?

thanks...

1. Yes. PCI-E 2.0 is backward compatible with 1.1. There's no difference for a single card setup.

2. Show me the official links & I'll believe it. I think you are misled by some retailers who not surprisingly post incorrect info about products once in a while. The official site says up to 1066mhz FSB with a new bios. Chances are the bios is old and if you stick a new cpu in it, it won't post.

In short, stop looking at old tech. Go with P43, P45 if you want out of the box FSB1333 support.

Welcome to the forums!

Due to chipset limitation, 1066FSB processors can only run at a maxium speed of 800FSB on this motherboard.
2 x DIMM, Max. 2 GB, DDR2 533/400 Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel memory architecture supported.
Higher memory will work, but at a lower speed most likely.
You can get another stick of your memory. Most likely it will only work up to the maximum of DD2-533, PC2-4200.
