I really want opinions from people who actually own the chips.

Right now I'm only running 3.36ghz on my 720. This is with the stock cooler. My idle temps are 36C. Going to test the load here in a few hours.

Running 14x240 with he HT @ 2400.

This is stable and makes my vista scores 5.9 all around which is sweet but yep. I'd like to really push the cpu to it's limits without frying it. Was looking at the cnps 9500. If anyone has a better suggestion let me know. I'm running in a Raidmax Smilodon case with pretty damn good airflow if I do say so myself.

So the question:

Zalman CNPS 9500

Or something else?

If it matters, I'm on an AM3 Asus 790GX

Scythe Mugen II is one of the best coolers all round', it cools even Ci7's very well.

The Sunbeam CR-CCTF 120 mm Core-Contact Freezer CPU Cooler W/TX-2 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6835207004
is the third best rated setup according to Frostytech
I use one on my 720be and never reach past 40+c on load ( 3 cores @3.6= 35c, unlocked 4 cores = 40c running Prime 95 for 12 hours )
my room sits @22c and the system idles @ 23-24c

Guys, I'm still looking around. So far I've got the Scythe Mugen II and Zalman CNPS9900 Bookmarked. After doing some reading they both perform about the same with the mugen being a few degrees cooler.

If it makes any different it's definitely going in a vertical case, and I'd like to keep the price under 60 dollars shipped, a few dollars over wont matter but 100+ is kind of ridiculous. Anymore input would be great.

I've also got about 13-14cm clearance from the cpu to the case door. Maybe 15 if I take off the fan.

What case do you have? I have arctic cooling freezer 64 pro, cheap 30 bucks one with pre-applied thermal paste in my Antec 300. My load temp is at 48 C with ambient temp of 28 C.
