Greetings,
I was trouble-shooting a Palm IIIc that was having problems syncing to
the desktop. I put a Palm IIIxe into the IIIc's cradle and the IIIxe
sync'ed up fine. However, afterwards the IIIxe's screen seems to have
lost all sensitivity -- it does not "feel" any touches or recognize
any graffiti. Has anyone seen or heard of this before?
I've tried a soft and hard reset, and it has not restored the screen
sensitivity. Any ideas how I can fix this? Or, have I fried
something in hardware?

It's possible that the screen became mis-calibrated to the point that it
maps the tracking area entirely off-screen. After a hard reset, it
should start at the welcome screen and require you to complete the
calibration steps, which should reset the area.

Er, I forgot to mention that there is a program you can add to the Palm,
which will force the welcome screen to come up when you do a reset, even
if it is not normally set do so.
