hi i have a old cumputer and im trying to put new xp on it (it has xp already on )when i turn on pc it has DOS writing and i keep pressing any key and it looks to boot from disc but does not my disc is fine i tested it.I have change many systems on newer computers no problem but this one and one more i come across is driving me crazy it looks like a dos system as such.

if your trying to do a fresh window xp install I would use fdisk to remove the partitions, then set a new partition, when you format do it as NTFS or re-format with the dos format/s command.. then make sure you system will boot from CD or Floppy which ever type drive disks your using.
