Unable to gain access to password protected files

Need help! My PC went down and I had my hard drive put into a external unit and gained access to all files except my user name that was password protected and has most of the files. Every time I click on the user name folder, G:\Documents and Settings\Derrick is not accessible. Acess is Denied. Is there anyway to get into my other files or bypass this?
