Howdy,

I'm hoping some of you can point me in the right direction.

I just purchased $1500 worth of brand new hardware for my first ever system build. I'm tech savvy but by all means no expert when it comes to building.

Is there a good guide that will walk me through the hardware install and into the OS/Driver/Software install? I want to make sure I'm prepared before I receive the hardware as I know I'll want to dive right into it.

Thanks!

Really the best guide believe it or not is your motherboard manual. Most motherboard manuals offer very in-depth information on installing hardware.

I saw a magazine at Walmart today that has it laid out step by step. I forget the name but it is this months issue.

I'll have to check that out.

I agree with the mobo manual - I'll definitely be reading that. However, I'm a little scared of what to do once I am ready to boot the baby up...is there a good source that helps with the OS/Driver installation?

its called the pc builders bible by pc gamer.

also, look inside your current pc and used that as reference.

i just build my first pc last week and it pretty easy. the only problem i had was the power for fans. the cable used for to connect the fans wasn't label clearly.
