howdeho all, this thread is self titled, I am running WC so yeah any help would be appreciated. Also I an only put up the QDR(FSB) not the actual FSB so will I have to flash my bios to aid this problem? also I am not worried about voiding the warrenty :D

Also thought this might help :D

The QDR is the actual FSB. Nvidia chipset motherboards tend to use the QDR for overclocking, so no BIOS update will fix that. It's just how their BIOS are designed.

It's hard to give you advice, it appears you are doing fine, you have a validation for 3.2ghz already. You don't mention any kind of specific problem you are having.

well i would love to get 3.6GHz as I think I would be accessing my WC's true potential, but I think the RAM is limiting it

Ram shouldn't be a problem. You can run it Linked and Synced for 1:1 ratio, which means up to 1600mhz FSB, good enough for 3.6ghz. Or run it unlinked and set the RAM to 800mhz.

Are you getting a specific problem when you try overclocking?

I frequent another forum which has a long thread about the P5N-D, with multiple users that have gotten 3.6ghz Q6600. PM me and I can send you the link if you like.

Are you running your RAM at the default 1.8 volts or have you adjusted the voltage to factory recommended voltage?

Try relaxing the timing to 5-5-5-15 and see if you can get higher.

Oh, wait. I just looked. The nVidia BIOS is a little different with respect to frequencies.

If you are running at 400 MHz X 8, your RAM is running full speed. With a 400 MHz FSB, your RAM is running at DDR2-800. RAM clock is twice the FSB (DDR2, remember). At the same time, at a 400 MHz FSB, your bus clock is 1600 MHz. (quad pumped bus transfers 4 chunks of data into and out of the CPU each FSB cycle).

So if you are trying to make the RAM run at 1600 MHz, you are trying to make it run twice as fast as it was designed to.

If your processor will support it, raise the internal multiplier to "9".

This is really starting to F*** me off, I am running it in sync mode b im at 1.49V and 9x400 and Prime keeps saying the rounding is 0.5 0.4 and under expected, what am i doing wrong? will i have to increase my volts elsewhere?

Ok im stable now volts are:
Vcore 1.5
RAM:2.11
HT:1.5
NB:1.54
SB:1.64

I want to get the vcore volts down so it runs cooler, is there anyway I can do that? Because if I lower the vcore volts it goes unstable :S
