So I am doing a new system build. I have everything selected and just wanted to run it by you all real quick before I spend alot of money haha! The machine will be primarily used for gaming and software development (c++, opengl, etc). I am not looking to overclock, although I may try a slight overclock since I hear that it is so easy on the core2's.
Those are the main components I am thinking of. Onboard sound should be more than fine. Just wanted a couple quick second opinions before I started ordering. Thanks!
Looks like u got a pretty solid rig, I don't know if you planned on it but your mother board will not support cross fire. It has only one PCI Express 2.0 16x. Not sure if you wanted to leave yourself the option to do that in the future, but you may want to take a look at another MOBO.
That is a very solid build. The only thing I would change is swap the IDE DVD burner for a SATA one. Here is one that looks like the same one as your original build, just SATA and $2 cheaper :
They used to make high quality professional CRT monitors for photographers, designers costing over £600 for a 20". I used to have some of them when everybody moved to LCD's and second hand CRT's became dead cheap. For a couple of last years they are also making affordable LCD's and other stuff.I do have one myself 19" ProLite E1900S had it for over a year and very happy that one also is 2ms. By the way they were the first ones that I saw below 5ms. They are definatly good value. You can also check their website http://www.iiyama.com/ms_GL/Home Also search for reviews on google.

Sorry ainarssems
But Viewsonic were the first to hit 3ms responce time with VX922 Monitor
Nonetheless Lyiama is an excellent monitor brand
I believe in LCD monitors you have three major brands
Samsung , Viewsonic, Hanz

ainarssems, pull the trigger. Your overkill psu will last more than 3 builds. Trust me. I'm on my... Lost count of how many mobos I swapped out. This is my 3rd gpu upgrade. My psu is about 2 years old now.
