Get this HD, it has a 32mb cache and it's cheaper http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6822148288

For the PSU, get the PC Power & Cooling 610W or get a Corsair one with near the same wattage, those are some of the best PSU brands.

For the mobo, I would get a P35, I like gigabyte but get whatever brand you like.

For the processor, save yourself some money and get the Q6600 and overclock it.

And for the video card, I would go with a 4850, they start out at $200 and many of them have mail in rebates from newegg.

Those are the only suggestions I have but good luck with your build.

i dont know if you will ever consider going with dual vid cards for SLI (i just had this thought because my friend just bought a mobo based on the dual pci-e slots for future upgrades) then look at mobo's with 2 pci-e slots but if you dont think you ever will then it looks like a pretty good build!

The 4850 is a good graphic card, but the 9800 GTX will beat it in almost every situation. Newegg has some for about $199 now i think.

the 8800 GTS is a good card, but both the 4850 and 9800 gtx are better.

here is a link to a comparison of the two:

Really now?

This article says otherwise: http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/arti [...] VzaWFzdA==

Quote: "The Radeon HD 4870 held its own in all three games, competing well with the GTX 260 and completely surpassing the 9800 GTX in every way. So this we can say for sure, the Radeon HD 4870 allows a better gaming experience than the GeForce 9800 GTX and in many cases matches the GeForce GTX 260. The Radeon HD 4850 surpasses the GeForce 8800 GT by a large margin and in some cases the GeForce 9800 GTX as well. It seems the Radeon HD 4850 competes well with the GeForce 9800 GTX. One thing is for sure; looking at the gameplay results for the Radeon HD 3870 X2 we see even the cheaper Radeon HD 4850 is a vast improvement over it."

i said ALMOST every situation :) oh well, shadow you proved me wrong! they are both great cards and will give you a great system. im still on my 8800 gtx, and nothing can slow it down except good ol' crysis. im too poor to buy anything else right now...sigh :( but my q6600 is at 3.5 ghz so im not too sad!
