Hi, I have a homebuilt system.

AMD 5000+ x2 @ 3.0ghz @ stock Vcore
Biostar MCP6P-m2 ver 6x
A-DATA 2x1 1gb RAM @ ~870 mhz
HIS Radeon 4670 Iceq Turbo @ stock
WD 320gb HDD
DVD-rom

Now, I have prime95 running for 10 minutes

Idle @ 2.6 34c Load @ 2.6 ~60c
Idle @ 3.0 and Load @ 3.0 are the same.

But, my NB is very hot, when I touch it, I've been burnt.
I was wondering if the 60c is ok with the stock cooler,
and also,
If I get a AC Freezer 64 pro, will it fit?

1. I think 60°C under load is acceptable, but I don't know how much over that will still be.
2. Remember the CPU cooler won't cool your NB unless the air that comes out from the fins goes on that direction. I have a semi-old AMD processor (X2 2300-BE) and the air goes out only horizontally (it needs to go vertically to reach the NB), and the AC 64 won't solve that.
3. You can buy a small fan (40 or 50mm, the size of your NB) and attach it to the NB (I used a bit of red silicone) and the problem will be solved. Remember to take into account the noise. If you have a silent system, don't throw in just any fan)

NB is usually always pretty hot.

It might fit, but will it blend?

(Sorry, I've seen it a lot lately...had to chime in with my input) :)

My max temp by amd's website is only 65'c. When I run prime95 the cores reach to 66'c and the thrm is 58'c. Is this ok? I don't want this comp. to last only a year.

And, if I get this cooler, blending, I'm not into it looking good, but more if it can perform well, will it mount correctly, I think I have a vertical mount on my board?

Nah, not meaning 'blending in'.

Go to youtube...search for 'Will it blend?'

Its a guy that chops up all sorts of things in an industrial kitchen blender.

I have a 5000+ BE at 3.2ghz pumping almost 1.5V into it. your fine, just make sure it doesnt go much over 65C.
I would definately invest in that arctic freezer though just to be on the safe side.
and yes, it will fit

Thank you guys for all your support. I bought it today. It fits perfectly and now my temps never go above 49c. ^_^ Very much appreciated.

5000+ @ 3.1 ghz. Over 245 fsb seems to be a wall. :'(
