Any more news on this card? I hear available by the end of July? My main concern is will my motherboard, the Nforce 650i Ultra Non-SLi motherboard and my Antec 650 watt PSU be compatible with it? I am looking forward to this cards launch.

I guess the best purchase to make now will be for the GTX 260 FTW which scales with the GTX 280, and I can still OC it more, and do the STEP-UP Program if need be in 3 months.

The GTX 260 is not worth it.Get the 4870 as it is now, that would be fine.
Don't be an Nvidia fanboy, get what is simply, the best product.

dude the GTX 260 is better in some games stand alone anyway... the FTW edition of the GTX 260 is the same as the GTX 280, which is better then the 4870 in most cases anyway, if not all, and u can OC the FTW edition of the GTX 260 higher then it comes factory sealed..

I think what he's trying to say is that the GTX 260 FTW is just an OC'd GTX 260, which means you can easily just do the same thing with the 4870 for less money.

I'm trying to say that the GTX 260 FTW comes factory OCed, better out of the box like the same performance as the GTX 280, which is better then the 4870, and yeah I can use the step-up program by EVGA to get the new EVGA card 3** series or whatever the new one comes out if need be.

Reply to mf2385

^ don't count on the supposed 3 series

Reply to thogrom

ok, well future upgrade-proof for awhile too with EVGA..

but, I was thinking about upgrading my motherboard, and getting 2 8800GTS which significantly do better then the 4870 and gtx 260 in games and even the gtx 280, would I even have to upgrade my 650 watt ANTEC PSU? to do that? What do we think about that idea?

I think you should wait for the x2.
