Hello All! Like most I'm a first time builder. I am looking to build something that can handle all the MMO's that I currently play (WoW, AoC and upcoming WAR). I have researched for the last 3 days and here is what I have come up with.

The only thing I don't have listed is a MoBo because I'm getting mixed reviews about most of them. Need advice on that. Let me know if you have any suggestions. Also I know Vista 64 will utilize all 4 gigs but does it slow the system down in gaming?

Thanks!

Hello and welcome to the forums mate :)

Looks very nice too me, as for the motherboard, if u don't need SLI or CrossFire then go for a P35 board (ASUS P5K-E WIFI,GIGABYTE P35 DS3L and ABIT IP35PRO) are good boards.
If u need CrossFire, then go for a X38 board and if u need SLI go for a 780i SLI board.
About the VISTA 64,why slowing down the gaming? some games like Crysis benefit from 64bit?(although not much)

Just a couple questions:

What is the difference between SLI and Crossfire?

Also is will it benefit me by having it for the future? Meaning will future games require it?

crossfire = ATI Radeon cards, mobo's with intel chipsets (P35/45, X38/48) support crossfire. In short, you can simultaneously use 2+ Radeon video cards for better performance.

SLI = Nvidia cards, must use mobo with nvidia chipset. 750i, 780i, 790i(DDR3), 790i ultra (DDR3). Allows you to use 2+ Nvidia video cards simultaneously for better performance.

Looks like a really nice system! If you are only going to run one Video card, Maziar is correct about the P35 boards. You can get some really nice performance from that E8400 with the Cooler you got, but I found that the Zalman CNPS 9500 or 9700 coolers are amazing. Ive used both on quad and duo systems and they work nery well under overclocked settings. Unfortunately they are a little more expensive.

In addition, the 9800 GTX may not be a bad idea for a video card if you like Nvidia. The benchmarks for the 4850 and 9800 GTX are close, but the 9800 GTX wins in most games.

Here is a test of the two:

You can see the 9800 GTX is just a little ahead of the 4850. Plus you get a two slot cooler to get that hot air outside your case with the 9800 GTX.

It's a decision that will not have too bad of an impact on your system. The Antec case is one of the best mid tower cases for both ventilation and looks. Have a fun time building!

The difference between HD 4850 and 9800GTX isn't very much but in almost all games the HD 4850 has the lead(but as i said the difference isn't much) and in some few titles the 9800GTX performs a little better

Nice setup
I prefer to go for the latest X48 chipset mobos
Avoid mobos with nForce chipsets i.e you'll loose possibility of SLI 2 nVidia cards
