I have a new system running Windows 7 that I built. I have put in a second hard drive for storage. My device manager shows I have two hard drives, however if I go to COMPUTER it only shows my main hard drive (with OS on it).
Common problem. To fix it, right click on my computer, go to "manage," then find storage devices, and finally after locating the HDD you installed in storage devices, format it and you should be good to go.

A drive without a partition on it would not show up under My Computer. This is normal. The fact that Windows sees the device is a good sign. Don't get discouraged! Go to Disk Management and right click on that drive and you'll figure out the rest I'm sure!
