Just a general question. Is watercooling of any purpose if you ain't planning on overclocking (to lengthen the life of components) ?

Nope, the stock coolers or better air aftermarket coolers is all you need. Saves a ton of money and hassle.

watercooling is quieter usually but otherwise air cooling is your best option if you're not oc'ing.
