I'm preparing for a pretty monster build and atm i'm figuring out what parts to get. Pretty much everywhere i've read the recommended reservoir to get is the Swiftech MCRES Rev 2.

Since i'm going to build my PC in a MM U2-UFO i thought it would be a great adition look-wise if i got a 5.25" bay reservoir. The problem is that pretty much all reviews i have found on those reservoirs say that they are not as good as the swiftech one.

Is there not any 5.25" reservoir that performs as well as the swiftech or close to that? A dual 5.25" will do just fine too. I don't care if there is a minor flow restriction compared to MCRES but i do want one that effectively removes the bubbles in the coolant.

I hope some of you can help me :)

It's what i use in my loop. Bleeding was really quick and easy with it. In mine, there is still a bit of air in the reservoir that i couldn't get out but it just stays in there so its not a problem.

Just looked for 30 seconds and allready seen 3 people who have had the plugs for the reservoir crack.

Anyone else that can recommend a good reservoir?

I can link you to a few stores. Look for thick sides if acrylic or acetal or something else. These are the places I'd deal with.

http://www.dangerden.com Poor choice for a res, DD is thin acrylic

Spend a lot of time on xtreme forums, ohh Darth Beavis posted a pic of his new shipment of a nice res. It's not a DD res.

A res is sooo easy if you have a DDC3.2 aka MCP355 pump. The XSPC restop is very popular and in tests is a winner. I use two, one on each loop.

I have been reading alot on XS forums but just haven't been able to find any real tests. This clears things up. Is it possible to get the XSPC reservoir to work with the MCP655?

Edit: For some reason people are saying that this reservoir won't work with the Laying D5. I can't see why it wouldn't work if i just got one with the 3/8" ID barb..?

Can you link the XS page where Darth has posted pictures of that reservoir?

No, it won't fit on the 655 aka the D5. It's machined to replace the top of one pump and has channels for water flow etc.

You won't find any reviews on a res. It's just a res. But you will find comments etc.
Darths post, it just happes to be at the top of the subforum right now.
