My parents have a Dell Dimension 2300. I recently installed a new flat screen monitor and a USB keyboard. Previous keyboard was PS/2. Now when the system hibernates wiggling the mouse will not wake up the computer (as the ps/2 mouse DID). I checked the BIOS and there is nothing there to assist me.

Under the mouse properties the box IS checked to wake the system using the mouse.

Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Eddie

From hibernate? I'm not sure if that is possible with USB.

Some of the newer MB have a manual jumper to wake by usb device, and you have to set the bios power management to make it work, I think.

Since the system is trying to conserve power, the usb device(s) should be shut down, and the reason why it won't wake.
