Recomendation for hdd partition in windows 7

why 50/200 is the best HDD partion?

I have a single C: drive. Partitioning a single drive will reduce performance.

Do you have a specific reason for partitioning? I keep all my data elsewhere (backed up to network) and drive in system (which is actually a 3-drive Raid0) is a single partition with all apps and OS. Data stored in my profile is backed up to network nightly.
