HDTV questions

I'm finally getting around to upgrading my TV viewing to a Flat Panel HDTV,
but being a major newbie at this, can anyone help me with the following
questions and thoughts.....

Thanks in advance for any information:

-What is the opinion of this newsgroup for the best brand of Plasma flat
panel HDTV? picture quality, service....etc.

-Are there any Flat Panel HDTV's that don't have fans in side them making
noise?

-If a Flat Panel comes with a Tuner... and I don't get the digital HD
service right away, can I still watch basic cable and what do I have to look
for in a paticular model to watch basic cable?

-I have noticed that purchasing a Flat Panel HDTV on line is a lot cheaper
than going to Best Buy or Circuit City... what about if pixels burn out and
I can't get extended warranty from a online warehouse.. what is my recourse?

-If a HDTV comes without a PC D-Sub, and there is no DVI connection, is
there a SVGA to HDMI interface?
