Anyone know if there are any programs/games on the mass market or on the horizon that require a quad core to function well?

I know the list of programs which take advantage of quad is slowly growing, but I have not even heard of anything coming down the pipe that will require a quad rather than a duo to perform well.

I havent heard of anything.....
I think it will be a few years until quads are recommended for gaming

^Are you kidding me? Games like GTAIV, Flight Sim,etc ARE CPU limited. Providing you have a OCed (to at least 3Ghz) Quad it will perform much better than a similerly OCed Dual.
