Dont know if im in the right forum but what is a better temp monitor, Speedfan or HWmonitor? Speedfan shows me idol at 42c and load of 59c. HWmonitor shows me at 28-30c idle and 48-50c load. Also, what are TMPIN0, TMPIN1, and TMPIN2 temps on HWmonitor? So of course im liking HWmonitor much better. LOL

What part are you monitoring? if you're talking about CPU then I've found CoreTemp the most reliable. Otherwise, if you're talking about monitoring the systems temp etc... either are good.

Read the temperature guide at the top of this forum section.

i dint think coretemp worked with amd?

I just downloaded Coretemp64- But it is only showing 2 cores? It is detecting the processor right (Phenom II 720 x3) but only detecting 2 cores? Is that normal?

no CoreTemp supports AMD, and that doesn't seem quite right. But what temperature readings are you getting?

Well on the 2 cores Coretemp is showing its reading 24c idle on both cores. Hwmonitor is reading all three cores at 24c too.

Then i'd believe HWmonitor is more accurate in your case

O.k. thanks- Do you know why Coretemp would only show 2 cores ? I downloaded the 64 bit version for my O.S. but it just wont read all the cores .

can't say i do, they have the P2 on their supported CPU list.

Yea i saw that. Oh well- Do you know what the TMPIN0, TMPIN1, And TMPIN2 temps are on HWmonitor? They vary quite a bit and i cant find anything about it.

no i dont, HWmoniter doesn't have those for me. What i'd suggest doing is find another program like Hwmonitor like speedfan. In the other program find temperatures that are similar to TMPIN0 etc...

If you find some that are similar, then thats most likely what they are
