Hey guys just ordered a bunch of new computer parts, and they are getting here on Friday. Just want to make sure I know what I'm doing before I blow the computer up trying to overclock.
I'm looking to get a modest 3.4 - 3.5 GHz overclock, and I have read all (I hope) the recommended guides, but am still unsure as I am so green to OC'ing.
So this is what I'm going to do: Build the computer, download p95v25.8, LinX, E-LEET, RealTemp, and make sure the computer works well at stress at stock speeds.
If that works out okay, setting the RAM to 1340 by putting the QPI to 134, and RAM divider to 2:10.
Then, set the BLCK to 170, and disable turbo.
Then reboot, and run stress tests for another 24 hours while monitoring temperatures.
So does this sound right? Am I missing anything here... because I have a feeling there are a couple more settings I should be playing with instead of just setting everything to Auto. Thanks!
