My current rig is a custom built am2+ gigabyte ma790gp ds4h with a phenom II 940 overclocked to 3.4 ghz. i have heard that lower temperature for a phenom II will give a more stable OC and higher clock at a lower voltage. I currently have a ASUS Triton70 92mm Vapo Bearing CPU Cooler with my cpu idling at 52C and load 65C. My question is what can i fit in my antec P182 case that will lower the temps a considerable amount without increasing noise.

I've always wondered OP, what particular statistic should you look for when considering noise levels? decibels? In other words, what noise-related spec is consistently listed with cooling products?

i would say decibels

Well, overclocking and quiet don't generally go hand in hand. I am unsure of the dimensions on the case..Do you think you could drop a Thermalright ultra 120 in there? In that case you could find the quietest 120mm fan to put on there.

Failing that, how about the Xigmatek 1283?

Would you consider water cooling?
