I have no OS, HD, or Ram yet
The question is,
the M.B. will accommodate either, 3 gig of DDR 333
or only 2 gig of DDR 400 (slot 1 & 2)
Please pass on our thoughts.

It all depends on your budget...

And the OS

i would go with the 3 gigs of DDR 333...

personally i don't believe you would notice a big difference between 2 gigs of ddr 333 & 400.....and if its vista with 2 gigs its gonna be slow...

anyone else feel free to correct me if i am wrong..

No point in >2GB of ram with that system. Nor would I install Vista on that system as your hardware is too old to see any benefits. Go with XP, if you do 1 gig of ram in dual channel mode should be fine. My old computer is running a 3800+ with a X1900GT and 2 Gig of ram. It runs the same as it did with 1 gig (on XP). Vista wrecked it with only 1 Gig of ram though.

Dual channel mode ?? I don't think that I have that option, As there are only 3 DIMM sockets.
