i just bought a new logitech g5 mouse (blue skin). i don't know if all of these mice are like this but mine makes quite a loud noise when using the scrollwheel (especially when scrolling up). also clicking the scrollwheel takes quite a lot of pressure.

are all of these g5 list this or is mine somehow mechanically defective?

I know the early models had problems with scroll wheels but not the one your having. It was something to do with it actually working. Although mine is an early model (so i wouldnt pay to much attention to what it does) it doesnt really click loudly when scrolling, but mine over time has become rather hard to press the scroll button.
