After reading a lot on this Havoc/Ageia novel, i wondered.
When the hell will those guys begin to do something useful ?
Really. Physics calculations on gaming could be taken far out than "5000 barrel explosion" on Crysis. Honestly.
Why dont they adapt it, lets say, to every game !!
At least the cloth !! I'm not talking about calculating fluid or whatever, why not cloth ??
The first realistic cloth that i saw was in Assassins Creed. It was nice but, why oh why dont they adapt to everything.
We already know they physics calculations are not tied to a board or brand. They can be use by anything ( First Ageia Card came with a G5 on them).
Why the hell games don't let us use the CPU that we prefer ?
For example, im upgrading my X800 soon. Its a 200 gigaflop GPU. Thats is nothing to be sad about. Ill have a Cross-fire for graphics, but in another PCI-E slot i can slap my X800 just for physics.
Now, follow this idea with me. Im quite sure we all got our old gpus getting dust as we speak. Why cant we use them ? Really ? Games got to step up on this direction why not free it ?
PS: Sorry being sentimental, but it will be a sad day ill disconect my X850..it served me well.
Why we got to use a CPU that can do about 50 Gigaflops to do that, and still ahve to juggle with a the process we have in the background ?
If all the physics calculations are just in the software, not need a specific CPU/GPu to do it, why cant i use my 200gigaflop GPu for it ? it is capable of floating point calculus. Why not ?
The future of PC gaming is there, why don't they stop the crap and free the code ?

I agree i have 2 old graphics card a 7600gt and a 6600gt gathering dust right now while i am using a 8800gts 512mb in my pc. There has got to be a way that we can use the old graphics cards that are just sitting there in out pc to take care of some things either in the game or in the background so every ounce of power from our computer can go to games
