I'm planning on getting the Radeon hd 4870 x2, but I want to know if it will fit in the case I'm planning to get. I was originally going to get the Antec 1200, because a friend of mine said the GeForce GTX 280 (card I was originally going to get) wouldn't fit comfortably in the smaller Antec 900 I wanted to get.
So, anyone know if the Radeon will fit into the 900? And also, if anyone knows the exact size of the card, could you post them? I tried finding it, and I found some conflicting results. Amazon said it was around 7" long, but another site said it was 10".
its the same length as a 8800GTX(so i have read), that said it should fit the 900 case, but you can NOT have the extra fan(back tunnel style one) or a hard drive in the front of the card.
LOL, 7" long??? Nah, it's huge. Here's a quote from a newegg review. It fit in the guy's Antec 900. BTW, he's playing with fire, using a 500W PSU with this card.

Pros: I must say, I'm definitely impressed at this cards ability/performance/cost balance. I can't say I've had any problems so far with heat, but I am running it in an Antec 900 case with lots of fans, so I'm sure thats helping. Then again, I don't have any games that would really push this card yet, so this review is based on games like R6V, R6V2, GRAW, GRAW 2, Splinter Cell DA. I'm planning on getting Crysis, and CoD 4 now that I have a card that will handle it. I would definitely recommend this card though, because it really does have a lot to offer in performance.
Cons: None so far, other then you need a big case to fit it. I just barely squeezed mine in with a fraction of an inch to spare before hitting the brackets for my hard drives, and ROM drives. It does seem to use a good amount of power, which my Antec True power 500W seems to handle fine, so make sure your Power supply is rated to handle the load.
Other Thoughts: Again, I want to stress that this is a big card (almost 12 in.), that requires a pretty good sized PSU. Also be ready to increase your computer weight by 5 to 6 pound. It doesn't sound like much, but with the weight of everything else in my computer, it makes a big difference.
ASUS L1N64-SLI mobo, 2x AMD Athlon FX-74 x2's, Antec True Power 500W PSU, Antec 900 case, 2 WD SATA Raptors in Raid 0 config., SB extreme fatality sound card, 4x 1GB Corsair Dominator memory.
Take it as you will, but I would highly recommend this card. For the price, you can't beat it, and it comes with a lot of software, which is an added bonus I wasn't expecting.
As always Newegg delivers with quick service. :-)

What the reviewer's saying about the Antec 900 is pretty much in line with what my friend said. It'll fit, but it's a tight squeeze and may interfere with the space for the drive bays. What do you guys think? The 1200 is like $80 more. My friend seemed pretty convicted that I should get the 1200. Should I just get the 900 and save the money? Or would it be safer to get the 1200?
Also, other than size, are there any other benefits to the 1200 over the 900? Is the airflow better?
