If I buy a laptop in the United States for use in Europe... what will I need in terms of power supply equipment to make it work? I've heard that cellphone chargers nowadays can automatically regulate voltages. What about a laptop power supply/power adapter/AC adapter?

95% of the power bricks that come with laptops are 110-240V, so you should just need an adapter plug or a new power cord, such as:

$13 for a set of plug converters

for the power plug, you will need to look it up by the style (model # on the brick, or connector type)

P.S. I bought a new power cord for mine after I got to Germany. (inexpensive about 10-20 euro)

Oh, that's good. Why would I need a European style power cord if I can just use an adapter plug? Why did you buy one?

By the way- thanks very very much
