Can games work on xp professional 64 bit

Hello,
I have a custom built PC with a Dual Core AMD Opteron Processor, 8GB RAM, a Nvidia Quadro FX 3400/4400 Graphics card with Windows XP Professional 64-bit operating system. My problem is when I put an ordinary cd such as a dvd or music the computer reads it but when I put a game in e.g Arma 2 the computer regonises the cd but no iso appears and the computer appears to stall. Can anyone explain to me why it is doing this. Thanks

The games will work only if they are supported by XP 64 bit OS. It will vary for each game. You can google the game's sytem requirements to find out if they do or not.
