Alright, so I'm on a budget, got about 100-125 dollars to spend. I don't care about AA/Anthro but I do play on a 22 inch monitor.
My current setup is:
Core 2 Duo E2200
2 gigs of 800mhz ram
Geforce 7900 gs 256 meg
What should I get? I was thinking Radeon 3850 for $99 or Geforce 8800GS 256meg.
There is a $20 rebate with this $129 card. MSI is excellent with their rebates. They make no unusual requests and they got the rebate for my motherboard fast.
Personally I would say suck it up for another month, save the money and get a HD4850. It is about twice the performance of a 9600GT and it only $159 after rebate from several different manufacturers.
Your 7900GS is a decent gaming card. It should last you until you can afford something that is really worth upgrading too.
With a 9600GT you can expect about a 40% increase in gaming performance. You can expect a whole lot more than that with an HD4850 which is a card I would say would be worth upgrading too.
