pyree, sorry let me explain that better, java does not work on any web browser, when i say only ie works, i mean ie is the only browser that will connect to the internet, ive tried firefox, chrome, and opera, im not sure if the java problem and the web browser problems are related, but i just put down as much info as possible

yeah, im a linux user so im not that experienced with windows :) i was on the phone with microsoft for 2 hours and they were clueless to, but this is not vital to me, and if i really want it to work ill probably just reinstall :D, i will still take suggestions if anybody has an epiphany, thanks for the help!

I reread the post again

Do you have window firewall as well as another firewall, are they both off?

I think that if you can download from IE the full offline java, instead of the installer and download as you install, java would work.
