Hi, im going to be installing my new PSU, in to my new system soon. Its an Antec 430 Earthwatts. I have heard good things about them, and well antec is quite good, and i believe they are build by seasonic, a great brand.
I 've heard horror stories about people blowing up their systems just by plugging them in(and powering them up). Is there a way I can test if my PSU is safe before connecting it to my system? I know of the method of connecting the Green pin to the Black, but will that be able to test it? Would a computer shop be able to hook it up? Or am i just going to have to find a dummy system? Please help guys, im really scared about this. Not sure if part warranties will protect me.
Lol bdollar yes, im well aware of that solution? Ive just heard messed up stories, just wanted to see if i could test it. Ill look in to the PSU tester, seems like a worthy investment. Thanks guys.
if you have one handy, a voltmeter and some resistors and caps works well for testing through loads....but thats prolly a little too advanced....LOL!!!
