If you don't mind replacing the ENTIRE setup if/when the NB fails, then remove the fan and work it till she dies. If however this is your only computer and you don't have the $$$ to replace it when it goes, then stop being cheap and go get another fan. I don't remember if the NF7 has a special NB fan or not. You should be able to find something for it however.

With the heatsink being so small I wouldn't use it without the fan, but you could get a zalman heatsink to replace it if you got the room as they are much taller than the one your replacing. Just be sure to check the temp now verses with the new heatsink. Zalman also makes a bracket fan FB123 I believe thats it you can mount it to blow air on the heatsink for additional cooling. I think Fry's has that bracket fan if needed, you might not need the bracket fan if you have good case ventilation.
Or you could just sord of do with my old ati 9500 *which has a pretty small heatsink* when the fan died. Glued another one right on to *much bigger was actually for a proc. heatsink but didn't fit right*.
