In device manager is shows a problem with this device, and I cannot use the DVD rom for anything in windows, How do I get windows to see it again. Was working fine and suddenly stopped about a month ago? How do I get the system to see it? Did the Drive crap the bed?

2.3Ghz AMD Phenom Quad core
Nvida 8800GT
MSI CDKA 790GX Platinum Motherboard.
Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit.

Possibly, but it's also possible something corrupted your registry. Do you remember what you were doing before the drive stopped working properly?
