I'm about to purchase this motherboard but there seems to be A LOT of controversy about it.

My new build is for a digital audio workstation/ general home use (not much gaming).

I want this pc to be as future proof as possible within reason since the nehalem seems to be more then a few years out based on my pocket book. Some of the p5q3 extras might come into use one day.

Likes on this board:

- asus
- p45 north bridge (most updated)
- ich 10r south bridge (most updated)
- fsb 1600/1333MH
- IEEE 1394a (I need 1394b/firewire-800 but believe I can buy a firewire-800 pci-e card.
- high speed long range wifi (could use usb2 adapter with another mb not sure if quality would be the same)
- memory max 16gb

Dislikes:

- ddr3 (expensive & nehalem wont use this type)

cpu- intel 9550 quad core
psu- corsair HX520w
hdd- 2 x 320gb western digital 7200 16 cache
tower- p182 antec

Any opinions would be great!

If you like all that, consider instead the P5Q Deluxe instead, since it uses DDR2. Also, the Asus WiFi adapter IS a USB 2.0 part, they just put it on an internal USB 2.0 header.
