P7N 3x PCI-E lanes are 6 monitors possible?

Hi all,

After my M2N board died I decided that it was a good time to take a quick upgrade. I did a bit of research and decided that Intel was the way ahead and the P7N SLI Platinum offered fairly good bang per buck.

So far I have the following.

Q6600 G0
4GB PC2-6400 GEIL
P7N-SLI Platinum
and an old 7900GTX.

The main reason I ask the above question is because I run 2x 22" monitors on the 7900 for playing poker, what i really want to know is can I opt for 3 8800GT type cards running without SLi to run 6 monitors @ 3 per card? or something similar?

I believe that if you do not enable SLI, you can run 6 monitors. You could also buy cards with 4 dvi outputs (e.g. 3870x2).

thanks alot, i would assume this could enable the use of far more than 6, which would be a bit over the top for me. def something to look at.
