Hey there people.

I'm planning on upgrading my CPU, but I'm really not sure if it's needed or not.

I have a C2D E6750 running at 3GHz with stock cooling and pretty stable. I wanted to switch to an E8500 or a Q9450. Is it worth? All of them run at 1333MHz FSB, the difference being the cache, all of them being able to run 3GHz.

Here's my specs:
Gigabyte P35-DS3 Motherboard
4Gb(2x2Gb) Patriot DDR2-800 4-4-4-12 6400LL Series
XFX Geforce 9600GT XxX Edition (700/2000)

Grats,

Agreed...just wait. I don't think you'd see much change.

Well, I'll stick with the processor then... I'll try to increase the frequency a bit, maybe 3.2GHz or 3.4GHz, won't hurt I guess...
Thnaks guys!

If you do lots of CPU intensive work like Video processing, switching to a Quad sure would make quite a difference, otherwise it might not be worth it.

Not really, I'm just into gaming and light office stuff(Microsoft Office, etc)... I'm glad I chose the E6750 in the first place then... It's quite a reliable processor.
