Hi everyone,


I have a Sony Optiarc DVD RW AD-7220A ATA 22x dvd-rw,i am running my p4 ht 630 3.0GHz with 2gb of ddr2 800ram and asus p5kpl am ps,Now the problem is while reading some dvds with some multitasking,my dvd rw will make a bad reading noise and will take it to a blue screen,Is that the problem of my drive or any other components,I am running vista home premium!

Search google on the blue screen error message, like: IRQL_LESS_OR_EQUAL; something in capital letters.

Even with a defect drive it shouldn't BSOD; so this could be a driver issue or other software issue. Try other operating systems if you can, and i assume you ran MemTest86+ already?
