this is a regular crt model txn3075. about a week ago, wavy horizontal
lines moving up both sides of the picture appeared. center of screen is
fine, and the lines are worse during bright scenes. dark scenes almost
play fine. Tv makes a funny noise also when turning it on. this
happened while the Tv was off. unplugging has done nothing, problem has
not gone away at all. doesnt seem to get worse, deff not better.
something must have blown. anyone have any ideas? thanks

Sounds like a capacitor gone somewhere. This is not something you can fix
at home. The set needs professional attention.

Suggest contacting Samsung directly or a Samsung Service Facility, Also
checking some of the available web sites regarding the specific problam
with your product. IMHO it will probably need components and./or circuit
boards supplied by Samsung to rectify the problem. In this type of
symptomatic quandry the manufacturer is normally your best point of
information regarding resolution.
