Just wondering what people would recomend for a good headset setup for gaming. Money isnt a problem (unless this setup will cost more than 400 which i cant imagine...) also im a quality whore, so i dont want something thats gonna break within 6 months...

e8400 , evga 750i FTW (onboard sound seems to blow chunkss) , and a 8800gt (gonna go SLI with upgrade) why, does it matter?

I have a set of Sennheiser HD555's with my X-fi Fatal1ty and you cant go wrong, great sound and loud as you need it ;) shouldnt cost you more than $400, might want to look at the Titanium series on the X-fi now as its sheilded and uses PCI-e interface

Don't get razer barracuda it's a totally overrated and overpriced underperforming product. Thumbs up to the Sennheiser recommendations. While not the best they're miles better than most offerings.
