e6750 vs. q6600?

I'm planning an upgrade and can't decide which of the two would suit me better.

I use it for mostly gaming (cod4, CS:S, crysis), which throws me toward the 6750, but i'm just not sure.
other than gaming all i do is the traditional "web surfing", and the occaisional dvd encoding/burning.

What do you guys think?

As the number of background tasks goes up, having a quad looks better all the time; that's why I chose a Q9450 instead of an e8400. Future games may also use more cores. If it were me, I'd get the quad for greater future-resistance.

Yeah future-"proof"ing probably isn't such a bad idea. Especially at the speed we're developing new ideas these days.

There is no reason to even consider the E6 series anymore really. Not unless your mobo doesnt support the wolfdales. If you're think of a dual core consider the E8400 or the other wolfdales
