I have an IPTV box with a RJ-45 network connection. However, my wireless router is too far away to be plugged in. Is there something I can use to connect my IPTV box wirelessly?

Thanks,

You need a wireless bridge like a Linksys WET54G. Or get a router that can be loaded with DD-WRT firmware and converted to a wireless bridge.

Thanks Grumpy,
How would the set-up work? Configure the wireless bridge and then plug it directly into the IPTV box? Also, is this set-up fast enough to carry a tv signal?

Thanks,
SC

Yes, that's how you would set it up. I don't know what speed a TV signal requires. If you had a strong wireless signal, the router and bridge should communicate at 54 Mbs.

I have just tried connecting af Motorola VIP STB though a pair of Linksys WET54G with no luck.

The setup was:

Ad-HOC network
Mac Cloning : AUTO tried both disapled in both ends and autocloning in the STB end and disabled in HAG(fiberbox) end
IP Adress : Auto

It seams like the STB are getting "almost" connection when the MAC cloning and set to auto but it will not load the TV portal from the provider.

Anyone with a good idea ??

Kind regards

It's quite simple. You can link them up using an adapter sold on electri-fy.com
