Unable to access the files in Drive C:

Hi All,
My windows xp is not booting up (C then I installed OS on Drive D. Now i am able to start my system and also i can see all my files in C: drive. But some of the files in C: are not able to read. When click on the folder then it saying Access Denied. I can able to access all the folders excet c:\documents and setting\<profile1> only. All the required files in in c:\desktop of that profile. Can anybody help me?
